Hi, I am planning to land in Toronto on 17th July 2006. Need economical accommodation (single room or shared), around toronto, mississauga.

Please check the classifieds of this website.
There are so many private and professional providers of cheap accomodation who have advertised their services in this website. I am sure that you can choose one. professional providers also can pick you up from the airport to the accomodation for a reasonable fee.
A local Gurudhuwara may also be able to provide you with free accomodation and food for some days. Local Gurudhuwara's will not be able to provide you pick up from the airport.

TK, Do you know of any local Gurudwara which provides this kind of service, ie free accomodation.
I can understand the free food, ie community kitchen aka langar

There is a Ghurudhuwara at airport road (near steels) in Mississauga. It is near the Westwood mall. When i came there in 2002 April( To meet my friends), we used to go that particular Ghurudhuwara and i met some people staying in it for Free. The understanding was that they will be there only for a few days and then find their own accomodation. The accomodation was given irrespective of the sect (meaning a hindu desi could stay in it)

I sure christians will be entertained.
But you need to know hindi or know some one to translate to hindi for you when you go there and ask them for accomodation (since most of them there donot know english-with due respect).
Besides you have to wear a head scarf if you enter the gurudhuwara for worship or langer (community kitchen)

Sidenote : Our CD classifieds have some of the cheapest accomodation rates in Canada. Please go through it and use them. Also a lot of people advertise for one room, 2 room, PG accomodation at the most competitive rates. OTOH,(if you are a catholic) you may try some local charitable catholic organaisations which can provide free accomodation for you. Catholics are big time people in Toronto/Canada. The govt. gives them special status.
