and With others its the sour grapes? :D

You gotto hand it to the guy though...inspite of all the 'injustices' of the 'banana' republic system, he seems to be thriving. Must be better than you at what he does? I'm just asking...not drawing any conclussions. ;)

Yes with others it is sour grapes and bad odor.

Any one in Banana republic with license can thrive.

Hi Crenshaw,

Your all posts smacks of arrogance. I just do not believe that you "planned" and wrote CPA before leaving the country. Of course there is no way to verify your claim and now try to prove you are snarter than others. I know at least 50 CAs from India out of which only two have reciprocity and both got visa while serving in Gulf. May be you are one of them! Who knows?

Hi Nightmare,

Believe it or not; Yes, Crenshaw did exactly what he says he did.
How do i know? I know because i have known him for a very long time, way back while in India.
Hopefully, you wont say that this is an alias :D

Regards

Hi Soberflier

My point is that I do not believe that Crenshaw was smart enough that he first planned immigration and then did his CPA because HE KNEW that the License , permit quota that exists in this worse-than-banana republic would neither recognize nor permit an immigrant to pursue CA degree.

He accuses other immigrants are nor smart enough to do due diligence. Can any one imagine that a so called developed country like Canada would have such a barrier? As I stated before and would reiterate that most people do their diligence. For example , look at any “Reputed” job site like Monster or employment column of any national news paper and you would find numerous postings entry level/ intermediate level public accounting positions. With 15 years of experience, who would imagine that no jobs would be offered in Canada? I applied in 1997 and since I had no relations in Canada, I could not get appropriate feed back. CD site was also not launched then. These days, I always ask the prospective immigrants to browse this site and seek clarification/information by posing questions.

I reiterate that Crenshaw was not smart but is certainly lucky.

Who needs to be smart/talented/deserving? I think God just loves Crenshaw more :D

I'll reiterate that as a fact later on. It seems like fun to do.

SF; thanks for the endorsement.

Ironically, the talk about reciprocity was never part of some 'smartness contest'.

In fact I brought the subject up on a previous post, saying that there are probably 'thousands of desis that have got their CA memberships'. I stand by that knowing that in some years upto half of the reciprocity candidates are Indian CA's with a CPA.

In terms of 'planning' for the CPA before one lands in Canada, its information that is very publicly available from the CA Institute. If one includes talking to the CA Institute as part of their 'due diligance (sic)', the CA Institute in Ontario has 2 employees who are available for consultations relating to reciprocity. They are more than willing to respond to emails and even get on the telephone if you want to speak to them. They won't explicitly tell a potential immigrant to go out and write his CPA before landing; however, by explaining the rules repeatedly, they do make the implication pretty clear.

Back to the topic though:
This thread took off when Nightmare said that the CGA Insitute was being 'thretened (sic)', that politicians had joined hands to finish it, and that he was being 'disbarred' as a CGA.

We are now onto our 4th page and he is still unable to explain how he made those statements; unable to explain how he is 'being disbarred'.

It's easy to say that to do 'due diligence' before coming to Canada. If you are an engineer (there are thousands here in Canada as taxi driver, labor, etc.) and if want to get PEO (Professional Engg) license, you have to pass some courses (there are exceptions here) and need to have one year canadian experience (but no exceptions for canadian experience). This is written on concerned websites, how can a potential immigrant know that even if he/she pass exams, he cannot get the required one year experience in his field to get the PEO license.

Crenshaw, can you please explain? (Many of these people don't know anybody here in Canada).

I believe same probably will be the case with CGA/CA (even though I am not in this field), same is with doctors, etc.

Why don't you people accept that Canada (By the way Canada is a great country to live & I am not against Canada) needs taxi driver, labor, hair dresser, etc. and don't need atleast so many professionals.
