Dear Mr.Massood Joomratty,

CHC-Delhi has wrongly typed the Citizenship of my son in his CPR.
This has happened because he was born in a different coutry and his mother (my wife) is a citizen of that country. But he's got Indian Passport !.

The Name + Date of Birth + Passport # is fine.

Other information in all of our CPR is Ok.

Do I've to send it back our PP + CPRs to CHC or can it be corrected at the Port of entry.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers.

Best to send back to the issuing embassy.

This is Mr. Massood's column.
But your post raises a serious question. When your son is holding Indian Passport his citizenship is deemed to be Indian. If you declare it to be something else does he not lose his Indian passport? Will that not cause complexities?

I am assuming here that he is citizen by birth of some other country and his CPR mentions his citizenship as Indian.

On other hand if his citizenship has been shown in CPR as that of the other country, Mr. Massood has already given his expert opinion.
:)

Dear Mr.Massood and LD,

Thanks for your reply.

No place have we mentioned that he's a Citizen of that country.
All the places (IMM forms) its mentioned - Indian.
Infact that country does not give the citizenship to the newborn if born in that country - only if the father is the citizen of that country , then only it'll give.

He's got an INDIAN passport , where its clearly mentioned - Citizen of India.
Passports were sent for visa stamping. Ofcourse its a typing error.

Hope its clear. Do you think I still need to send them back ?.

Thanks onceagain.
Hutton.

I think you need not waste time. Massoodji already adviced you to send them back for correction. Remember, no officer at the port of entry has any right to change any information, even if it is obvious. They only can record information, cannot change. So dont take that risk and get the CPR modified ASAP.

All the best.
Hiren

Dear Massood, Hiren, LD,

Did as advised. Thanks.
Presented the PP + CPR at the CHC, was issued a new CPR and stamped new visa in the PP.

FYI - had inquired with CHC-CIC about the same and got a reply from them to present it. Took a printout of their reply . This printout is required as they ask for the reason / proof of visit to the CHC.

Cheers.
