i considered cognos courses 2 1/2 years ago,, Ended up doing ORacle Financials in India.
Wrong choice.
I did go through the Kimball/Ross Data Warehousing Toolkit book.
Very interesting.

Mercury6,
Can u recommend any good book on COGNOS & do they conduct training on this in India ??
Why is it that Ora Fin jobs are so less as compared 2 Sap FICO ? Seems Ora Apps is having little market share - is this presumption correct ?

Hi manasvi,
If you gather more info on SAP trg. do Share it with us.
Hi Ritu,
I recently met a gentleman (my next door neighbour in fact) who did his training with Siemens last year in FICO - He told me that the course was for 31 days (14 hrs per day) and they took and cleared their certification exam the following day !!! Both were Indian CAs .
Talking to him it appeared that FICO was more suited 2 a Finance professional rather than technical guys . Lots of reports and charts based on functional knowledge .I think SAP Admin / ABAP 4 shd be prospective areas for techies .
Will update any other info I receive & request u 2 do the same (in SAP any other newly found knowledge in other areas )
Manasvi.
Cheers everybody
Ritu,Neeraji and north alberta... peace
We all know.. Ritu is saying right... but she is not in... yet..
so whenever she is in canada.. she will be in better position to comment.
So worry not.. .just all the best to Ritu

Manasvi,
One thing I will like to add here is that the things which typically gets bangalore'd are all the technical work. What is here to stay in USA (or Canada) is the business Analysis work. So if you are getting a chance to move towards the functional side, its not a bad choice..but of course it all depends on your interest. Also in USA BA's typically demand more salary than the techies..and canada closely follows USA..
