Hi all,
Can anyone tell me where can i get good jackets from Mississuaga / Toronto ? I am landing with my family to Canada on 24th nov. 03. So the first thing that I will have to do is to buy good jackets for both of us to sustain the Winters.
So if there is some good shop where we can buy it at reasonable rates then please let me know. It will be really helpful.

Garvo, What would be the price of a decent Jacket at Wall mart. In Indai a heavy nike jaket with lining costs about 100 Canadian Dollars.
It is almost same. You will get them marked with "Made in India" or Pakistan or Bangladesh!
During sale you will get cheaper.

Walmart and Zellers will have cheaper stuff than Sears or Bay. If you are staying in mississauga, you may want to visit malls like Square one or Erin mills town centre and shop around.

In Canada you dont need one jacket, you need at least two.
Spring and Winter
Right now it is spring jacket which is similar to what you wear in North India...shoud be good upto 5 degrees.
For winter you will need a heavy jacket, preferably with removeable lining and MUST have a removeable cap.
The best option is to look at walmart.
If you wanna bargain hunt, try GOODWILL shops, they sell second hand stuff, often in v good condtion. Winter jacket is $12.00 there but you may have to look around continuosly to find a good deal.
Indian Jackets are totally useless here and so are woolens or blankets.
A good jacket will last 5-7 years at least and will make you blend witht the local crowd.

DIE HARD !
If you have the time, the best place to buy stuff is the Sears Clothing Outlet store at Steeles and Leslie (Richmond Hill). It is a bit far but you can take the TTC there.
You get really good stuff at very good prices. The only thing is you have to search for sizes and there is no help. But you are looking at leather jackets marked down to $115 from $350 and other winter outerwear marked down significantly. You can pick up a high qualitiy winter jacket for $60. In fact, they have very good prices for all kinds of clothing. The only thing is you have to be prepared to do a bit of hunting within the store.
The Mall is at Steeles/Leslie or Steeles/Don Mills - same location, its just that Don Mills ends at Steeles and Leslie starts North of Steeles.
