Hi ,

What are the different things first time homebuyer need to be aware off while buying a home?

What are the different things to be asked when approaching a real estate agent ?

Anything else which is needed to be known.

When approaching real estate agents, the best thing is to ask which areas of the GTA do they focus on and what services they will provide for you. Too many times an agent will not know a particular region that well and in my opinion is not qualified to provide an educated viewpoint on that area.

A few questions you should ask:

- Have they bought/sold houses in the area you are looking to purchase your home?

- How many deals have they recently completed?

- Do they have any references from previous clients?

- How familiar are they with the homes currently for sale & recently sold in the neighbourhood you are looking at?

- Professionalism is key as well. Do they return calls on time? Do they act in a professional, honest manner? Do they give you straightforward answers? etc.
