Dear All
I am an Diploma Mech Engineer about to reach Canada in next few months , however I have told time often that Engineering is an controlled profession in Canada .
So I ask any individual who have any info about how to get my educational credentials validated in Canada in any state ( if state laws are diffrent)
Please also tell me what are the average slalries for Engineers in Canada e.g in per hour or per month basis and where are the bigger engineering firms located in Canada i.e. are there any place which is known as an industrial area or where any other engineering professionals have setttled earlier.
Is Toronto the right place to go ? ie interms of jobs assuming I do not get a job directly as an engineer as I am getting multiple replies for accomodaton but how are the job situation over there.
Pls advice
Thnx.
mukherjee saheb,
every 5 people out of ten are engineers immigrating to canada.
You will have to face stiff competition as well be prepared to do all odds to survive.
All the best.

Do or Die.....
Do yopu know to flip burgers, Lift heavy boxes, Drive a Taxi, etc

You know you are a desi when ........ You spew forth the virtues of India, but don't want to live there...............You've never had a tanning salon membership
Jobs are there but not as engineers. You will get odd jobs . Whole GTA is industrial area but intially forget about any Engineer Job , just try to survive. Almost all migrants are Engineers here. So, you will find good company everywhere you work in odd jobs. Try to upgrade your skill, do some certification from here & than try some engineering job.
Best of Luck

Driller the thriller
i heard that u need a certification to use the term engineer in your designation. yes they even doubt your basic job title. i also have to do some certifications again.

To add to this plight after you get all the necessar certifications and credentials chances are there you still do not get job.Pl be also prepared for that too.
True about getting certifications. Do it as early as possible.
One collegue who is a Mech Eng got a job as a technician...which is an upgrade for him from doing labor job.
Two other engg people I know , one has gone back to India and One is leaving end of this year.
Either way you are looking at a significant change in your work / work place / from your prev position you held in India.
Its a mental game....if you can compromise on this then I think you should come over and try hard to be successful.....

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.
