Hello every one,
I was granted Pr staues on the 25th of July 2008 and i,stayed in canada for 50 days and left back home,,, my PR expired on the 25th of July 2013 . the same day i enterd Canada,,,i am now in Toronto. at the airport the officer told me she is not doing me any harm,, not reporting on me but i am just writting a notice to be considered for my card to be renewed,,, these notices are the reasons why i was away for that long [opertions for my child].
Apparently the officer was convinced with my circumestances but i am not sure of my statues right now.
Am i a legal Pr person now? what if for any reason i was confronted with police?
how can i apply for a driver,s license or sign appartment contract or how can i continue my life legaly with my expired PR.
how can i apply for renewing my PR. can i travel back home and come back to Canada if i want.
a thousand how and what and what if.
would you plz give me a coverage guidance cuz as you can see i really really need it.
Best regards.
Well you can stay inside canada, no one is going to ask for PR card, SIN card is asked, in case you don't have SIN CARD that then its a problem. If you have a SIN card then you should be able to open a Bank A/C, get Drivers license everything,Do jobs etc. No police will confront you unless you commit some crime. You should not leave Canada for 2 years and apply for a new PR card and at that time you would completed 2 years out of past 5 years.
Hi,
In order to be eligible for Permanent Resident status, the landed immigrant has to stay in Canada for 730 days out of 5 years. Since you lived only 50 days withinn 5 years, so it is a problem. However you have option to renew the Card by stating the reasons for this delay or about reason for your absence from Canada.
You have done one mistake. During your first visit to Canada, you should apply for SIN number.
So you have only the option to file petition/request letter to Canadian Citizen and Imigration, Downtown to renew your card. Otherwise you will not be able to get the Government benefits.
I hope it will help you.
Thanks
