One million jobs on their way to India

If you thought India has its hands full with BPO jobs , wait till you know the whole story. The country not only has its hands full, more jobs are on their way to India.
One million jobs are expected to come to India by the end of next year. Two years ago, Forrester Research Inc. predicted that 3.3 million US service jobs would be sent offshore by 2015 , but that even that analysis is now being called conservative by experts.
As many as 14 million US jobs — ranging from investment research to tax preparation — are likely to be offshored. These jobs are easily standardised and don't involve face-to-face interaction.

Nice to know.
1) The economics has its own cycle. Once the Indian labour market cost increases (which is increasing day by day and more expensive than china)
then what will happen?
2) There are other cheaper countries coming along like South Africa, all USSR splitted countries.
Need to think more, but its definitely safe for another 10 years.
Cheers

Interesting you mentioned South Africa - I would add other parts of Africa as well... Uganda, Kenya, Sudan, Tanzania, Zaire have good chances of picking up offshore work cheaper than India. I know it will take some time but it will happen evantually as they have good knowledge of English.
Yes , so the bottom line is quality , India must be able to deliver quality , a customer must come to India not only for the price but for the quality of the service that we Indians can deliver .For this Marketing is also very important , the Indian Brand must be marketed in such away that it stands out for quality it a reasonable price . If we compete only on price then it is only a matter of time that the other 3rd world countries will offer a creeper price and then we might have to compete with “ Congo “ who knows ???.

What can be imagined, can be achieved.
I know south Africa is far behind, but it won’t take much time to reach at India's level as many of the European countries are looking for the other alternative to avoid the monopoly market.
Recently teams from European Union and UK have visited SA to identify the business area, and lots of service companies are growing up as western countries has special sympathy with SA.
