i am from delhi and I hbalance orave forst had experience of Canada. I was in same situation as urs great job, appreaciating properties, easy respectful life and then I took the most wrong decision to come here. Here even of u r making lots of money(which is nearly impossible for majority of immigrants), u will always face dissatisfaction, anger and frustration. Once u r here people will tell u and u will also think to stick around for 2 years for PR or 3 years for citizenship. but in these 4 years u loose ur self-confidence, respect and whatever u have back in delhi. I am not alone as mostof the people i knew here from delhi have moved back after wasting thousands of dollars. ur family suffers the most and if ur thinking to come for sake of kids or free medical or whatever they told u,its a scam. education isprimitive and way behind than what we have in delhi. medical is all waiting and appintments here. property is up and down and fraud reports misguide you. there are homes for sale in every street and corner.people who bought old wooden homes are making money only beacuse they arrived here 40 years ago. weather makes it impoosible for kids to play outside for 6 months sometimes, they are inside playing videogames and loosing their balance orworse. schools tech kids to report if parents thrash them so that they can be taken away in state care. overall they are preparing a labour force which they actually require. costof living is so high especially in BC and ON that 80% of your earning goes into basic survivial. if you were a farmer or labour in india you hit a jackpot by coming here. for most of educated and well settled metro people in india I have seen it simply doesnt work here. u can take the costly way and learn by living here for some time, or save ur money and invest it there and still double it with comfort of mind. i know at least few canadains who are working in delhi and having time of their life as this is a dull boring place. even big cities here are like dull. if u have plenty of money and want to spend on a holiday come here this season and do a survey, u wont need anybodys advice.

and if u say why I am still here and dont go back is that I dod moved back 3 times. I have seen all major citiesofCanada and worked there, I could notfind asingle place worthy of a genuine legit Delhiwallah. People will say I am negetive but once u r here u should see who are happy here. People who were not happy in India with there lives, with money earnedor quality are happy here and u know majority 995 are not fromDelhi. I found Mumbakars who were going back and were happy because they were very clear- towork for ayear in IT and send back as much and go back as nothing iswen herefor them. Country will waste ur life on petty things, racism, penny talks, garbage , junk, and stupid things which we dont even think about in Delhi.Aboveall you are even made torealize that you are worthless since u are from India and ur education and achievments are zero. They are living in a closed well and feel superior in everything but they are not. Heavy dependence on US has made them blind and we get sucked into a herd of immigrants which comprisesof people from Somalia, Lanka, Philipines and the like.

and I am now moving back.I already has moved my family back and they are so happy and relived. I cant ove back for another month for settling the accounts and leases and cars etc, The worst part is that while I used to get job offers in India from top notch companies , when I put Canada on my resume noone seems to be interested.I have to go back and rectify this mistake. If you really want to enjoy life abroad go as tourists and come back to Delhi.

In many case people start labour job and then can not come out.

In my opinion u can come here alone look for all opportunity , stay as paying guest which is cheper option with all facilities like lodging and bording.
get PR card and decide within three months that this country is right option for u or not?

Dont look only one person's opinion because in this country 75% will give u negative opinion and only 25% people will give u positive opinion towords stay in canada. though out of 75% people said negative about canada but still dont go back to india.

make all option open, come here, look and decide yourself.

Thanks Gurram, ashedfc, chekram_04, AzizTheGult, mcg7,fass2008, Samit and Pranav for providing your valuable inputs. It is actually helping a lot in decision making.

Well let me tell you little more about my background so it will be easier for all of you to comment on my situation, I am 33 years old and applied for skilled immigration program under the Category of “Financial Manager”. I have over 11 years in experience in banking and financial sector in collection and recoveries department and working as a Area Manager here in India. My wife works with tour and travel industry. My kid is only 11 months old. Can you please help me with the following clarifications?

1) One option that was suggested, I land with my family and get the PR formalities done, go back to India and then see the right time to move. What is Cananda’a policy in such cases? Till when can I return to Canada (No. of years) and my PR remains valid even though I move out the next day when I complete the PR formalities. As already suggested you all, Getting a PR card is not necessary, I can even go back to India very next day after arriving in Canada.

2) I have heard about Free Health care, free education, Unemployment benefits, pension etc. which actually made me think to move to Canada. As you all guys are already living there. Do these things actually exists there because what you hear is sometime different from what you actually experience. ( I know these are all recovered from your pay cheques via income tax).

3) I also understand I have to struggle a lot initially as one do not get such high designated jobs in Canada in the beginning which we are used to get it here in India. I am ready for initial struggle but my only worry is my 1 year old small kid. I just want to understand even if I struggle for little longer period, Is my kid is still in safe hands of Government? Is government is supporting enough for children’s. I don’t want to take any chance with my innocent baby. It is my responsibility to provide him with the best of all. Honestly, this is the only worry that I have which is creating confusion in my mind.

Please suggest.

To OP:

It would be better for you stay put in India.. considering your age. However, if you are willing to spend or rather waste some money (wish it turns out to be untrue !!) >> put your foot in Canada and try out your luck.

My other question" what happens if you get a reasonable job within 3 months " would you settle in Canada. What happens when you find this situation short lived ? Would you start cursing your fate ?

Luck plays a crucial role and if it works in your favour .. it is good for you (90% of the people are still searching for this... in the mean time they get caught in labour jobs, unrelated jobs, mortgage etc and they are unable to come out of it)

There is not a single reason to move to Canada. Next 20-30 years are very prosperous in India. Chances of getting rich in India are million times better than here. In next 30 yrs, buying power of Canadian currency will be less than Indian rupee.
