Hi all.,
I applied for my OCI in toronto consulate on 21st may 2009. They looked at all the documents and returned my passports and documents.
On 27th june, 2009 the OCI status website says "status granted". From that time on there is nothing going on and the online status for "photos scanned or documents received at toronto" status states "not yet".
Its been almost 3.5 months since i applied for OCI and nothing happened. Iam really concerned. I called OCI phone number. They asked me to call me again this week.
Is something wrong somewhere. Iam really worried.Any suggestions guys.

Hi Manabas,
As you say your online status says docs dispatched from India, but not yet received at TO?
If this is the case and once you have crossed the 10 business days after date of dispatch from India , technically you should go and submit your Cdn PP for OCI stamping and then wait for them to call or waity for updates on website. Their website clearly flashes this message at the bottom of the page where you check your status online on the Indian govt. website(not the VFS website).

I think you misunderstood my post. this is what my online status exactly says
Date Of Acknowledgment 21-MAY-2009
Application Status :
Registration Status Granted On 27-JUN-2009
Documents Printing Status NOT PRINTED
Documents Dispatched to Concerned Mission/Office on NOT DISPATCHED
Documents Received at TORONTO NOT YET

I called the CGI phone number of toronto today. Its useless. They said they do not have any update and it takes between 8-12 weeks to get a response and if i do not get a response, i should wait couple of weeks more before calling.
I told them iam almost close to 12 weeks deadline and they dont care. they said me to call after 2 weeks later. Anybody there who have some idea whats going on apart from sarkari slowness.

Typically, it only takes a week for the documents to be printed and dispatched, after OCI status is granted. So, something is seriously messed up in your case. If you are within driving distance to the consulate, you should visit there with a printout of the status and ask them what's going on. Calling them is practically useless.

Hi
when i went to vfs for submitting my oci form thay say thae want canadian citizenship letter showing the date on which you become canadian citizen.I don't have that paper which they give when we take oath.How to get that paper.I have citizenship card & paaport.

Note that there is a $75 fee, so check with CGI or HCI officials to see if this will work for you.
