I agree that there always be reasons for conflict, however with religion gone, there will be 1 less reason for conflict
I am by no means an atheist, I do believe in the existence of God, but in my opinion, religion is my personal communion with God and three is really a crowd here.
Organized religion of all denominations should be replaced by each individual practicing his own personal religion, i.e way of recognizing the existence and glory of the supreme being.

The emergence of Islam was in progress during the Medieval period of Indian history. This was done either by propagation and imposition under the imperial power. Lakh of Hindus were forced to adopt Islam. Their temples and Idols had been destroyed. This religious intolerance act was taken place mostly during the reign of Feroze Tughlak. Mention can be made of Budhism which spreaded across India and many people of Asian countries accepted it willingly. So also with the case of Manipuris, when the then Maharaja accepted Hinduism from the preaching of Santidas, many Manipuris abandoned Sanamahi.

If you had a religion called "No Religion Please" it would do the same thing what different religions are doing .... trying to "save" fellow human beings from "other" religion. In the end this "no religion" would also end up killing people in order to save their "soul". That is human nature for you !!!!
This no religion business was tried by the commies and they were far more barbaric then the religious groups.
What is required is compassion and an understanding about other religions. In today's day & time when a number of religions have to co-exist with each other and with each of them having different philosophies, it is all the more important that we have respect for other faiths.

so true, not just in religion but every other decision/reaction that you make in this world.
I would say, before understanding other religion - try to understand Own religion clearly. Know what it is trying to convey. If one understands the religion that he/she follows ... there you go - understanding other religion is taken care of.
