In my eight years here, I have met a number of new immigrants, and I have yet to see one who is in IT and spent anything more than 3-4 years in USA who DID NOT land with a nice job in Canada, or who did not get one within the first week.

Like TK said it is a no brainer. And in my view - not a success story because one never had to go through the routine hardship even for a day.

It is like in Singapore - if you are in IT and from any of the IITs in India, you apply for PR and they come back with a letter approving your PR but offering you to apply for citizenship instead which is sort of pre-approved!

Chandresh,

I'm in IT myself and although I agree that finding a job in IT is relatively easier than some other professions, its no walk in the park. I personally know some people in IT who have had to go throught the "routine hardships" you mention before they found themselves on the right track.

Maybe the OP put a lot of effort into prep-work prior to immigrating and that explains the results. Even in IT, it isn't normal to find a 95K job in 2 weeks by any stretch of the imagination. You have to be either really good at what you do and prepared for the interview process OR insanely lucky. I'd like to give the O.P. the benefit of the doubt of the former.
He did mention he's been following CD for quite some time now and prepping prior to his move.

Are you there?
