I find many businesses owned by Desi are very poor in customer service. I should say, they don't care about customer at all...

--For eg, I went to one desi restaurant, gave my Credit card to pay my bill, waiter came and without saying anything threw card on the table and said"We don't accept CC under "25 dollars" bill. he could have said it differently..anyways..I guess i discussed it here earlier too...I didnt give him any tip and gave shit about it...
--Went to one indian grocery store, she charged me extra, I found out when i was loading that stuff in my car while I was thinking about the price, I went back (less than one minute)and told her, that I got this and you charged me for other ..that was flour, she charged me for other company. She said" when?"
I said just before one minute.., she said, did you buy from me or other cashier? I said madam, i was here, just before 2 customer. She said, okay bring those stuff back and i will check it..I was pissed off so for just 2 dollars i went with those stuff and she didn't say"sorry or no apology" and she gave me 2 dollars with angry face. I told her on mouth that ..you should be sorry..atleast..
--I prefer to buy non indian stuff to canadian stores rather than going to store, who doesnt even say, hi , or bye..

I don't mean to generalize but in my experience so far, folks from Eastern Europe & former USSR suck big time in Customer Service. Couple of examples:

1. BestBuy (Heartland): I lost the reciept for an item I bought at BB in Nov 07 - this was required to take the item in for service at Sony - so I went there today to get a copy of the same. The lady at the counter (eastern European) told me flat out "Oh, this takes too long, maybe you should look for the reciept at home"

I told her politely that I wasn't in the habit of going to stores requesting duplicate reciepts unless I was sure that I had the lost the original reciept, and that the 5 minutes she'd already spent arguing with me would have been better spent for me and 10 people in line after me, by her looking up my reciept using my credit card#. She then went on to tell me that "looking up a reciept using my cc# was not PRACTICAL" and that I needed a. the exact date of the transaction b. The exact amount and c. The Model# & SKU# for the product.

I spent 10 minutes on the phone with the credit card company and finally got that info. She then asked me to "go look for the SKU# & Model#" as well.

Anyways, after about 30 minutes of this bullSh%t, I finally was back at her counter with the required info, and she promptly printed out a reciept which had no Serial# (required by Sony) printed on it. I advised her that I needed this info in order to take the item in for service, hearing which she started yelling "I can't help you anymore, I've done enough" and that "I am SUPPOSED to keep my reciepts and NOT LOSE them". It's been my experience that arguing with these individuals never yields a result so I asked to speak with a Manager, who was able to resolve the problem within minutes.

While standing in line and witnessing this sideshow, I heard the lady tell a guy trying to return his GPS to "go find somebody else as she wasn't able to reach an associate who could help him" & treat another customer trying to return cables like he was trying to rob the store (when he had a valid reciept).

2. Sunoco Gas Station (Hwy 10/Bristol) - On two occasions, the attendant (Ukranian) refused to let me redeem my Performance Points in the store, claiming that even though I had done so numerous times in this & other Sunoco locations, "HE HAD never heard of this points thing" and that I must be nothing short of a serial killer, asking for a discount.

A quick call to Sunoco HQ fixed that problem right smartly, with the attendant, his Manager & (seemed like) every other employee in the store, calling to apologize :D

I have more examples I can share with you if anybody wants to argue against the point, not that I am trying to make one :p

Its about Pizza Hut. It happend in Calgary in NE part where mostly South asian shops are there.

One nice evening we went with family members to this so called PIZZA HUT
Since hardly few people was there, so took table & started chatting

Found even after 10 minutes, nobody come to inquire & giving Menu Card
My family got anxious & child went near billing counter & collected Menu Card from Lady
During those 10 minutes, found Lady was going to different 2-3 tables, giving them Menu Card as well as taking orders

Anyway after menu card, we were ready with our Order.
But again another 10-15 minutes, nothing happen

So decided its enough & left the place. While we were leaving, that Lady saw us. But nobody ever bother to ask us why we are leaving?

Just for ur information, in that Pizza Hut, there were only two staff members
One Lady who was doing everything while another person who was actually preparing Pizza's

Now my questions are?
Whats wrong from our side? Its just a skin color or something else, as we found customers Lady was giving service was ALL Canadians

If they don't have enough staff, is it customers FAULT?

I am writing this as I found some members in this forum always support Customer service by this so called Canadian Companies
They (other than South Asian) are equally POOR or Worst in some cases

Any comments?

sounds like very poor customer service. don't have too much problem with that here in the greater toronto area.
