\\\"True Indian\\\" here we go defining .... This is just an attempt to define, t
There certainly are neumerous ways to define this complex term
1. Who is certainly born in India
2. Understands, respects, follows and preaches the \\\"Values\\\" of being an
Indian to others ( others meaning, Non-Indian borns, Not -True
Indians, ABCDs)
Indian values being - Respectful to others, seniors, parents and
other relatives and family members, obidient,
religious, cultured, respects other's views, helping in nature, underrstands family values
3. Remeber this Dialougue from a Famous Film
\\\" Not everyone who goes to temple regularly is a Pujari / preist / or even a Bhakt\\\" - but certainly gets general respect of being religious and sincere.
\\\" Not everyone who goes into a Bar everyday is a drunkard either\\\"
- But cerrtainly gets tainted. and is called a spoiled person.
The moral of being a good Indian is
- Do not do anytihng that will tarnish the image of the country India
- Do things that will make the country and countrymen proud to say
they are Indians
To me it does not matter whether you live in India or abroad, all that matters is how well are you follwing the Indian Values.

Good attempt at a definition...however I have one minor objection...my children were both born outside India,,,but I feel they fulfill all the other conditions that you define...I would still call them Indians...many are born in a land but display little respect to it and its values and heritage....whilst the contrary may be true as well....possible?

I do not tell my kids they are Indian. I tell them they are Canadian with Indian Heritage. I want them to be proud of both their heritage and their homeland.
My biggest wish for them is that they grow up to realize that they are much more than being Canadian or Indian.

Will it not hold good if we replace the 'Indian' and 'India' in the above sentence with any other country? Dont those values apply to any good humanbeing?
Is the certificate of being a 'good indian' necessary in the after life or something?. Its probably necessary if I were to run for political office in India...actually, its probably only necessary to make people believe so.
Big B,
Can you tell us more about your self. Being associated with Neil Armstrong is a thing which even many millionaries are not able to do.
Were you with NASA at any point of time (i mean working there?).
To me , you sound like a person of great academic background and/or a millionare?
Any reason as to why you choose to stay in Canada. (Please be as discreet as possible. This is a public board and hence reveal only what you want to reveal or send me a PM. I have already PM'ed you).
and BTW, What Neil Armstrong had confided in you had already been published in an article.
