I am not sure we have any doctor here or not. We can start the medical advise section without waiting for having any doctor on the board, however what would be the validity for such advises. Rather we call is "Medical Related Issues" and not "Advise", so anybody can contribute.
I think we can start a "Health and Wellness" section, which may not strictly be medical advice, yet would allow people to contribute ideas on health realted issues in general.

Medical advise on a forum could be a dangerous thing.
If something else not intended happens, who is going to be held responsible?
Let us say if a person suggests giving Benadryl for sedating a fussy baby and something like this happens..............

It happened due to overdosage of an over-the-counter medication but most medications do not provide any dosage for children less than 6 months of age.

Exactly! No doctor in his right mind would prescribe drugs over the net (at least I hope so).
Which is why we should have a "Health and wellness" section. Where we can discuss stuff like better diet, exercise, Yoga etc etc. And general health related info. as indicated by my earlier post.
True medical advice requires a doctor who needs to diagonise in-person. So that won't work.

I agree with BL and Rajcanada that medical advice on a forum is tricky.
When we analyse it, it raises more questions than answers. Stepwise:
1. Symptoms: Can we discuss symptoms? As they are only indicators of a number of conditions even a given combination may not point to a certain distinct disease.
2. Diagnosis: This needs clinical examination and tests. No one is authorised to diagnose except a doctor, and no doctor will hazard a diagnosis on partial information, and on a public forum.
3. Treatment: Prescriptions cannot be made on internet forums. Legally only licensed doctors can prescribe a treatment/line of treatment.
4. Follow up: Without a clinical follow up, entire exercise is wasted.
5. Liability: Liability issue is real one, as already pointed out above.
What is left:
Question arises that what is left?
1. Health and Wellness issues.
2. Diet/vaccination/weight control/exercise/yoga/pranayam etc.
3. Precautions/general advice in certain situations
4. Discussions on various related issues, which would benefit the person in question.
5. Sharing of personal experiences.
6. Emotional support at times of crisis.
