So a student cannot wear a religous symbol.
But as soon as he is out of it, he can don it.
the jew can wear his cap, the arab his cap, the arab girl can cover her head etc...
Then they all go home to their parents who are very traditional and conservative.

Just a correction to your above statement. Being Arab doesn't necessarily mean you are Muslim, therefore the Arab girl wouldn't necessarily cover her head!
True, but the article seems to mention Muslims as the ones most affected and the target of this move.

the point about dressing is that sometimes it can cross relgious boundaries. Its a cultural thing. A cap in most of arab is not a religous symbol (people actuall take it off when praying). Its a cultural symbol + a headdress protects them from the sun. Its worn by people from all religions. Christian women/ girls in Arab dress an awful lot like the muslim, the one piece dress and even covering their head.
Just like a baseball cap in north America or a cowboy hat in Texas.
not every person who wears a cowboy hat is a redneck. The person who is a redneck, you could take his hat away, yet he might still be one.
