Meanwhile I had to leave US, and decided to come to Toronto and get in touch with some recruiters. Now that this has finalized, I'm off to Burnaby!

What do you know, maybe Canada is not that bad! :)

And next year you can show you moving expense (Toronto to Barnaby) as tax deductibles !

How about apartments to begin with?

Hope you'll stick around to communicate that perspective to other new / prospective immigrants!

Yah ! Vancouver is the most expensive real estate in Canada. Read it a couple of times on Canada.com and also the provincial taxes are pretty high . Average apt ( to the best of my knowledge ) in the range of 220 - 250 K ) and houses median is 550 - 600K

Thanks everyone!

Actually apartment rentals in Burnaby don't seem to be too bad. While Vancouver is expensive, decent 1 bedroom rentals in Burnaby seem to be in the range of $700-800 per month. That's less than Mississauga.

And Burnaby is only half hour to Vancouver by Skytrain. Anyway, my job is in Burnaby, so no need to live in Vancouver.

Sure Crenshaw. CD has been very helpful in my job search and planning for the move, and I would be more than happy to pass the favour.
