My wife who is Science Graduate would like to take up teaching job once we are in Canada. I believe she has to qualify herself for a teacher's and do some courses.

Is it possible to do the courses by correspondence or online, if so, can you please guide as to the course names and institutions where these courses are offered.

Thank you.

Hi

If she has a B.Ed degree already she can contact Ontario College of Teachers for the assessment and further course of action. If not she will be required to do the one year B.Ed program offered by various Canadian Universities like University of Toronto, Brock, York e.t.c. The admissions are centralised through OUAC ( http://www.ouac.on.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK ) and the website starts accepting applications in November. It is a good idea to plan and do the paperwork well in advance as the process is tedious.

I will be happy to pass you more info on this on request.

All the best.

She gets to work for daycare, Probably some kind of qualification evaluation will be required. Not sure for degree from USA does require that or straight away can get membership with ECE society / association......I am reconfirming, with above qualification she gets to work in school at USA is good, here for school teaching job you require BEd. That is the difference between USA and Canadian standards :(
