I got the satellite and dish/receiver installed, someone programmed it for the desi channels and few american channels. I payes total amount $500 . Did I pay too much?

Did they made me pay too much?

And then for a week it was fine, after a wk the card got ZAPPED and the connection broke away. Now, I have to beg them to reset it to the new password. I had no idea that there is so much complication in this thing. I payed $500 just like that and now that the card is zapped, I dont know what to do ??

Please guys can you help me, it was my hard earned money and that \"bastard\" he didnt tell me about this complication. I am in calgary, can anone suggest what to do in such a situation.

In Toronto there are some people re-program your card. May be you can contact the person from who you got your dish.

This happens in Toronto also. But we have some dealers offering services like you pay $20 per month and whenever your card is zapped they re-program it again.

Yes they are. They're also everywhere. And its not only desis who have them, they're pervasive across the GTA.

How much does a 21 inch TV with remote costs in canada. here in India it is from Rs 12000/- to Rs 17000/- depending on the model and a Ku and C band dish costs from Rs 4000/- to Rs 11000/- means dish is cheaper than TV and there are alsways some free channels and Doordarshan and some foreign channels.

Do tell us what are the costs of newpapers and magazines in Canada also??

Afterall we have to be in touch with the World.

21 Inch TV will cost you about 300$ VCR 100$ Every thing comes with remote here.

Dish cost you know.

But the cable is costly here - the basic (canadian) channels cost you about 25 $ per month. Some additional (but required canadian) channel will cost you another 20. Indian channles are $15 each (ATN, B4U etc).

So watching TV is costly here.

News papers are quite cheap - $20 a month is good number. Magzines are damm costly!!
