Dear Mr. Massood,

My mother applied for her Visitors Visa for Canada using Drop Box service(Age 62 years). She is advised to get the medicals done, which she is doing now.

Is asking for Medical Examination any indication that the application is being considered positively?(Though the letter says that it should not be construed as a guarantee that visa will be issued).

CHC also returned her passport which she would be needing for getting mediacl examination done. Now , mediacl reports will be sent directly by the doctor to CHC and my mother has to send the passport to CHC through the agent who has helped with drop box service. I would like to know if Visa(if issued) and passport will be returened in drop box or CHC will mail directly to my mother. (As you will understand, my anxiety is because if it is sent by mail, the process could take 10/15 days, whereas in drop box, it will be known by the next day).

Hi Vijay,

It looks like you Mother has good chance of getting visa (as long as she passed medical test ) as it works the same way for students. I think after around 2-3 weeks (time taken by doctor to send medical results to CHC)she could go personally to CHC New Delhi and they would be able to check on computer if they recieved medicals and if yes, she could get her visa on the same day.

Well, Just to let you know my Parents got visa this yr in June without interview on the same day but they are in 50's and there was no interview.

Yes, it is a positive indication. Best to follow up after 10 days or so by fax or in person, if possible.
