i am doing my BA (3 yrs) course and have a visa valid till July 2006. but when i entered canada, the immigration officer gave me study permit only for 1 yr. i have applied for the study permit renewal, but havent heard back from them yet. when i called the CIC number, the agent said that i can continue studying without worrying about getting the study permit.
however, i am concerned about it. can the study permit renewal applcations be rejected? i have to deposit the fee for next year in couple of weeks. so i was just wondering what if they dont give me the study permit.
can u please explain me, how does it work? based on ur experience, do u think even after completing 1 yr of my studies, can they ask me to leave my studies in between by not issuing the study permit?
what options do i have if they do that?

Hi Abhayg,

First of all Don't worry you will get study permit but as per official website it's taking 40 days

to get renewal ...so don't worry and keep smiling

And you can continue studies as you have applied ...you have what they call is "IMPLIED" status ...so dont' worry.
