Dear All,
I have finally received my visa .Now the real struggle starts.Many things to be be wounded up before I land in Toronto in August.
Many thanks to Canadian Desi for providing all the information,sharing the concerns and hope the same will continue in future too when i am in Toronto.Looking forward meeting you all.

My Timeline
1.Submission of Application at CHC,New Delhi: 26th July'2000
2.AOR: 8th August'2000
3.New IRPA forms+IELTS+PCC report submitted: Feb 2004
4.Right of permanent Resident Fee submitted: April 2004
5.Medicals : May 2004
6.Passports received with stamped visa: 12 July 2004

MUKHERJEE DA WISH YOU ALL THE BEST. I HAVE JUST APPLIED.WHAT I HAVE SEEN IN YOUR POSTING THAT YOU HAVE APPLIED IN 2000 AND GOT AOR IN 2004.WHY THIS DELAY? WHEN CAN I EXPECT MY PR VISA?

I think you have seen wrongly.I got my File Number in 10 days from submission of my Application Form in July'2000.
KONO HELP DORKAR NEI.JACHI TORONTO NEXT MONTH.KEEP IN TOUCH AND ALL THE BEST TO YOU.
You can expect you visa by 2008 if applied through CHC,Delhi.

Hi Anup,

Congrats on getting the visa.

I too got the visa in 1st week of July. Landing there after Aug. 20 depending on ticket confirmation. I will ofcourse go to Calgary, Alberta where I will stay with friends.

Guys, if you are comming to Toronto, u will land at Pearson airport.
But beware of the the guys who carry your luggage. U must be knowing that at airports u have some guys carry your luggage. In india u pay them around 20 ruppees and they are happy.
When I came to canada 4 years ago, I had a lot of luggage. These guys helped me carry my luggage to the Taxi and demanded 50 dollars. It is insane...They carry my luggage on the cart for around 100 metres, and demand 50 dollars. 50 Dollars is 1500 ruppees. It is insane. So REMEMBER. ALWAYS CARRY YOUR OWN LUGGAGE AND TAKE HELP FROM FAMILY MEMBERS. DO NOT LET THE LUGGAGE BOYS DO THAT WORK. ITS NOT WORTH PAYIN EVEN 30 DOLLARS COZ ITS NOT MUCH TO WALK AFTER U TAKE UR LUGGAGE.
