Dear Frinds: Has any one travelled to India by Air China. I am looking for good deals to travel duirng peak season ( July-Aug). Seems Air China is cheaper.

No ...but if any one knows better deals to travel in july and come back in Aug ... that helps. Five tickets costing nearly 10K.
Here in Vancouver, we have an abundance of Chinese Airlines - China Eastern, Air China, China Airlines. I traveled in China Eastern and Air China to India, and trust me they don't differ much from the other European and Japanese Airlines.
As I hunt for the lowest fare, I don't really care for Customer service much. Having said so, their service is in-fact at par with everyone else, rather I have good experience thus far. Unless, you are looking for a 5-star service on Economy fare and a personal service from the Stewardess 
, you will be greatly disappointed.
For food, since I mention it (Indian Veggie) at the time of booking, I have rarely had any bad experience. All of the Airlines anyway have a bland food, so no expectations from that front as well. I actually make sure to pack some Paranthas/snacks of my own too . Yes, that's me who smells Indian food aboard.
Safety wise, I don't think there are any issues as well.
My parents are going to India this fall (one way), and I am getting a good deal on Air China (~$425) with 4.5 hrs layover in Shanghai. Contemplating on buying that.
In a nutshell, you will be alright sans any high expectations.
