As the proud descendants of this great practice..are we Canadian Desi's doing yoga?

Question: Who among us practice yoga regularly?

Vaman Dhouti is best for acidity and indigestion. :)

cool! 6 month course should be a good training for a certification.

My goal is to learn yoga, get a Yoga teacher certification and do something on that line full time.

A Caucasian colleague of mine did that successfully. He was a SQL developer (good at it too), kind of overweight and mostly bitter :-).

Started yoga gradually and fell in love with it. In about 3 years, he got a certification and changed careers to a yoga instructor. Very happy (and of course fit) now.

It takes some drive for sure, but it can be done.

Any reason why the duplicate threads are starting to appear again HW36 ...

Is it because of the same reason as before or some other observation ..

But the government's push for "yoga for harmony and peace" met with criticism in the run-up to Sunday, with some religious minorities accusing PM. Modi of pushing a pro-Hindu agenda in officially secular India.

A few Muslim groups have complained that chanting the sacred Hindu sound of "Om" during yoga and certain poses, such as "surya namaskar" or sun salutation, have clear Hindu overtones and were against Islam.

Why we practice YOGA? Is it because it is against Islam? Mmmm... What Next !

Its hard for Muslim women to do Yoga wearing their Burqa. They can't put their legs up in the air while wearing a Burqa & doing Yoga..hence they are protesting.
