Well BL, I knew you couldn't resist.
My opinions and interpretations are mine and I really don't care a dime of what you label them as.

When you or the other Modi's devout Bhakts shout from the rooftop that no riots take place after 2002 then you need to seriously look at the stats. The claim was about Gujarat and not Delhi, UP, Bombay, or elsewhere. So, in perspective the answer had to be specifically for Gujarat.

The truth is Modi was, is, and will be the most polarizing figure in India.

Now, you will utter the sheer popularity and like someone above quote the election results. Then, I must direct you to the similar German Federal Elections of 1933 where Hitler won the popularity vote - what transpired after is in front of everyone else. So, the mass popularity doesn't mean a darn when you have a blotted and irresponsible past.

When stats after stats show other States such as Maharashtra and Delhi is way ahead of FDI, investments, Human development index, Bhakts are still insisting upon the highly publicized/marketed Development model, but never provide any evidence to the outsiders as to what this very development model is all about. I have never seen a single feature or documentary from an unbiased perspective on Gujarat that substantiate these claims and the ground reality first hand. Buying print and electronic space to drumroll your picture all over doesn't even count.

On Kejriwal, I don't care what you call him - your prerogative. My support for AAP still stands still and will be. By the way, don't you still know that Delhi Police is not under Delhi Govt.? May be, you need to enlighten your ignorant mind, which is full of 'Modi'.

I just don't consider Modi to be more than a Soap and Oil advertisement or a Marketing gimick. What you think about my opinions/interpretations/logic is of no use to me, which I proudly give two hoots about.
Said 'nough!

Even Hitler was elected, so did Sajjan Kumar and Tytler. Also, Rajiv Gandhi after 1984, and especially after his crude remarks on Sikhs, such as, "Jab ek bada ped(Tree) girta hai to aap-pass ki dharti hilti hi hai".
So what?

WOW! Blockbuster voter turnaround, highest ever in India's history. And BJP/NDA headed for an unprecedented majority, something that almost never happens in India! Congress decimated and AAP behind in all 7 seats in Delhi.
The people of India have spoken loud and clear. I hope the clear message is politics of polarization around religion and caste will not work. Neither will "finding excuses" and excessive drama.
The agenda on everybody's mind (as it should be) is clearly progress/development and the path forward. And the overwhelming choice to lead the way for that is Mr. Modi.
Congratulations, Mr. Modi and all the best!
With that, I'll exit this thread. Good discussion and some great points raised by everybody, I certainly hope there are no hard feelings. All of us have the same end goal, we are well wishers of India albeit with different perspectives.

Congratulations to NDA , BJP in particular.
POSITIVES of result is clear majority and stability of govt. , uprooting of congress is welcome sign (it may further disintegrate). Corporate world will be upbeat.
NEGATIVES- very weak opposition, arrogance of ruling party will show up in few days, meager presence of AAP in parliament will further weaken the hearing of common man issues. No hope of reduction in corruption (it may increase further).
Personally I see no big change on horizon for India, particularly no change for farmers, no change for common man.
I enjoyed discussing the topic with all of you. Thanks !
Congratulations to Modi and hope he will bring India on track. I think this absolute majority will allow him to fulfill his development agenda. It will be interested to see how he will act on black money and corruption issues. The voters did their work - most of the corrupt politicians have lost, now see if administration/judiciary will be able to put them behind the bar. Next 5 years will be equally interesting as this election.
