hello ,
I applied for my daughter( canadian citizen) POI card in july and got a call from the indian consulate it is on hold as my pr has expired.
my spouse pr has already been renewed.
is there any rule that POI cannot be issued to a canadian born daughter to indian citizens if the father 's pr has expired. mother pr is valid.
I have applied for pr renewal but the processing time is around 120 days.
the officer at the consulate informed me that only once my pr is renewed he needs the copy then only he can process the application.
my spouse needs to travel to india with the baby for a function next month.
What would be best option. thanks .

There are so many guide lines and rules that they keep to themselves and it might be in their operations manual there in their offices, who knows what else?! So, put up with their requirements and bow to them.
Now we also know that everything should be current and updated prior to application. Thanks for the information.
Now to help your wife take a trip to the native place with the kid, prepare an application for a Six month Visitor's visa into india. For that get a copy of the invitation for the auspicious event that is going to take place, there in India. Call a Travel Agent and see if he will tentively book a Return Ticket for both of them with dates etc., and get a travel itinerary in a printout, if you can, then apply for the tourist visa, through BLS.

Get this form printed and filled out. Get it notarized and give it to the person traveling with to carry in their travels and have it on them at all times.
