OK mine have to be express cos of travel plans... Did you file a PIO or OCI for your newborn by any chance?

not yet. I was not aware of the OCI at the time of visa application. I will be doing soon for OCI.
It is recommended that you visit passport office before deciding on the mode (i.e. express / standard). This is because they give you expected date of completion. so you can decide based on expected date.
OK just had a chat with a friend of mine who has done the PIO. I will be submitting the application soon.
just share the details . how to submit PIO application .
OK here is what you need to know.
Docs to submit -
1. PIO Form (The one I downloaded from the internet does not have a place to stick the photo. I was asked to fill the form again in the consulate) Keep in mind you need the thumb impression in first page, twice in last page. I would suggest you to go with the baby.
2. Stick one photo 35mm X 35mm photo in the application
3. Child's passport + Photocopy
4. Child's birth certificate + photocopy
5. Both the parents passport + photocopies
6. PR+Landing card/ Work permit + photocopies (if you have a PR make sure you go with the landing card else they wont accept the application)
7. Marriage certificate + photocopy (only if asked)
Once the officer accepts the application, you have to rush down to take the photocopy of the entire bunch of the application.
8. 167$ money order or certified bank cheque
9. 3 extra 35mm X 35mm photos
10. Return Envelope with tracking number
