We would appreciate inputs from members of the forum on Indian Hindu Wedding:

Mehendi service provider

Indian DJ services

Banquet Hall with Indian cuisine

Staying arrangements for outside of town guests

We are looking for inputs on service providers for above, who offers services at reasonable prices. Wedding is scheduled in April 2013

All inputs are welcome.

Thanks in advance..........................

First thing I must say is that you are way ahead in your preparations for the wedding. So, I will congratulate you for having a head start. Yet, some of the halls and food suppliers are already booked in advance and might throw a curve ball and knock you out. Because the Regular wedding Planners would have booked them in advance for their clients OR they will certainly have preference over others, being repeat customers who bring a clientele more often and on a regular basis.

You will get atleast ONE input from ME. You will have to take it to the next level from here. Also you will have to do all of the calling and getting an idea about the location, and its availability, the prices and the other logistics such as the size of the hall, if they will permit a fire within, and if you have that in mind, the number of people attending, the catering, and if some of the halls will permit the outside catering etc., and most important item is the easy approach to the Hall and the very important feature THE FREE and ample Parking facilities, that is what you look for.

And if perchance you do find one, way out side from the populated areas, you can arrange a Bus from a common pick up location for everyone to congregate and join for a single pick up for everyone. I will also provide you with a venue under this. More on it from me under this.

Now you know why I am at a loss and unable to provide you with a location.

Where you want the wedding held or performed.

They type of wedding and how elaborate you would like it to be.

The number of people who will attend.

What kind of food you want the caterers to prepare and the services that they should provide, prior to, during and at the reception. Also the costs associated with it. The budget should be flexible.

Here is a link to your queries starting with Henna and Mehendi services.

Henna Prices : http://soniashenna.com/prices/

http://www.facebook.com/sanaa.mehendi

http://www.garamchai.com/canada/mehndi.htm

FOR D.J. SERVICES : You will have to do the calling. They all are reasonable.
You will also find a link to most of what you are looking for here in Toronto. You can pick your Photographer and Videographer and the florist too in the link. And only a few florists make the GARLANDS and you will have to obtain the information from the temple officials. They have a regular supplier for their daily usage.

YOU WILL NEED THEIR SERVICES for SURE : Prepare yourself a month or more in advance to get set for the paper work and follow all of their requirements to get the Certificates that you will require.

Here is the list of temples in Toronto..
http://www3.sympatico.ca/premb/indocan2/temple_list.html

THIS is the ideal TEMPLE I was referring you to for all your needs..
http://theganeshaexperience.com/ganesha-temple-richmond-hill/

Alongside, they also have a hall and you might also get a preferred service for the usage of the hall next door and the services of the Priests within and also a name of a caterer who will do the needful for the wedding and the guests. See the left hand side for all of the complete details. They also have a BUS service on certain days from important locations. Approach them for all of the details. See if they are needed by you.

Once again :
http://www.thehindutemple.ca/ Look for the priests who perform the ceremonies for you at this location .

They perform the ABRIDGED version of the wedding, as it might be to your liking. You will also get the work sheet for the wedding and its significance from them.

A link to one such location that is a stand alone feature. Only if you or anyone ever needs the same. : http://www.empirebanquethall.com/

For Residential and BULK accommodations, you will have to fix the same well in advance and get a reduction for the out of town visitors who will grace the occasion. I would not even venture in a guess or can provide you with a proper location, because of the costs and the numbers in play. It is for you to find out how many will be permitted per room from the lodging providers, if it is occupied by the same family, as most of them have TWO Double beds in them. And APRIL is also a very slow month.

Congratulations to the would be couple and to you as a planner too. Hope everything falls in place as it should and before you start on this ceremonial wedding, please go and visit the temple I have provided link to and being a very auspicious day and a sunny one, go and pray for the blessings from that deity in there.

May it bring you the success that you are seeking.

Subhamastu, Shrirastu and Bhagyarastu..

FH
