Hi all .....

I have one thing to say....if you all wanna get to the job market stop comparing with other desis and their ideas ( one may ask why the ***** am I reading/writing in this ?).Well you will understand shortly ....

I was in the "Cutela" land and was kind of paranoid about job prospects as many of you all were, and frantically was looking for info in newsgroups and wesites like this... I was told that it takes a lot of time to get landing papers etc... I got it in less than a year ( With an interview waiver !). Then came the job prospects scenario !! I was tensed and lost my self-confidence after seeing postings by some poor miserable soles. I land here with a job offer in hand and go for an interview in the first week and then an email awaits me today welcoming me to a very prestigious academic institute...( name not mentioned intentionally for obvious reasons ;-)

So what is this bragging all about ?

Just shedding a piece of advise : To start with.....one has to do a lot of reasearh before plunging into a new place. You cannot expect a highly advanced country hiring nincompoofs who can't speak English (surprisingly I see a lot of them in the streets here and wonder what they must be doing in this part of the world ). I was zapped to see a Malbari shop.....these arseholes are all over the planet.

Ahem !! excuse me ! I WAS WANDERING A BIT !!

Coming back to the main story : These goras want some professional competence (unheard of in "apna Desh") and international standards(which we disregard -'""apun ko kya karna ?-sab parwadtha yaar""). SO FACE THE WRATH !!

Aren't we going somewhere now ! To wind it all up....

If you can't fill an application form for immigration - you hire a lawer- FAILED

If you are from a vernacular medium of education - FAILED

If you feel that you can bypass the system with you dough - FAILED

If you can't pass the international exams - TOUGH

Hi Sribulusu,

I was wondering what sort qualifications landed you with a job offer even before you landed in Canada? If you could please elaborate, it would help other people looking for jobs as to assess themselves.

Did you land from India or from US/UK etc?

I would like to mention the fact that job prospects are different for people in different fields. A highly qualified civil engineer / electrical engineer from India may find it difficult to get a job of his choice than some one with an ordinary degree looking for any administrative job.

The guy is plain simple fibbing!! With his english and his style of writing, I wonder how much of a "prestige" does a "prestigious academic" institute has that would hire someone like him. The fellow is just full of crap! Some attitude!

I see you're head over heels with the western way of life.

Lesson No:1 don't lose your identity and self-respect. If you don't have either you're as good as non-existent.

Lesson No:2 Don't apply your case generically to everyone.

Lesson No:3 Learn how to communicate in a public arena.

Lesson No:4 Knowing to speak or write english is not the deciding parameter justifying your existence. sadly, you seem to think so.

The british never came to India knowing a single Indian language. They thrust theirs upon us. Learn to first be proud of your language and teach others. Learn to be proud of your fellow-countrymen. Stop gaping at the whites.

The western world has concocted the word \"Professional\" to such an extent that we've forgotten its original definition. Its a smoke screen behind which these\"goras' hide to committ their unscruplous activities. For years we've been swallowing and gulping down whatever the goras had to offer. This disgusting act has been going on for too long. stop, think and start questioning.

you call Canada\"highly advanced\". Can you tell me'How\" exactly they're advanced.

However, there's one very good and salient point you've mentioned. \"Do your research before coming here\"
