They should use Pakistani word if it is Pakistani resturant not even desi.
Desi word came from'Desh' and Desh is hindi word.

It was funny in the beginning but is getting ridiculous now !!!!!
Normally restuarants are called so based on the food they serve. Since the cuisine of India and Pakistan has a lot of similarities, it is identified as indian food. Even though the Karachi Kitchen indentifies itself as pak-indian food.
That is why if an Indian runs a chinese restaurant, it will still be called a chinese restaurant. Further more if Manny Singh were to start a restaurant selling idli and dosa, it will still be called a south indian restuarant and not a north indian restaurant !!!!!
Come to think of it .... the owners of Karachi Kitchen are Canadian .... so it should be called Canadian restaurant
FYI - 80% of indian restuarants in England are owned by Bangladeshis ... majority of them coming from Sylhet in bangladesh ...... but they are still called Indian restuarants as that is the cuisine they serve.

You will never find an Indian restaurant calling itself Indian-pak cuisine. It is only the pakis who call it pak-Indian cuisine or grocers. They will always add the Indian part. Just can't sever their ties to India and have to ride on our sandals. They should have enough confidence in themselves and advertise "Pure Paki cuisine - using halal methods invented in Pakistan"

Thats precisely the reason why our hopes were so dashed down when we scoured The Brick Lane in London looking for authentic Indian fare and we spotted Bangladeshis all around ...... We had to finally settle for one and the aloo gobhi he served was perhaps the worst I have had !!
A white Brit came in asking for naans .... The owner replied ' Naans are finished but I can give you fried naans' handing him over a couple of bhaturas ...
Indian & Pakistani cuisine is as different as N Indian & S Indian .... The style of preparation at times are dis similar - the basic difference is perhaps vegetarianism or the lack of it ... I am yet to find an Indian restaurant not serving authentic veg dishes .... even when the restaurant may be veg & non veg ..
On the other hand , a few Paki restaurants that I have visited , I have hardly found any veg dishes ... I wish Pakistani restaurants stop using Indian word which misleads ....
