We are new immigrants who finally got good job and settled down in canada after struggle of one year.

We first went for driving licence but were shocked about high auto insurance so, we postponed buying car. I don't understand how anybody can tolerate such high auto insurance. Why nobody raises voice against such high auto insurance? More than one week's salary just to maintain one car. We should all go on strike and stop driving on road for one week till something is done. first and foremost such high auto insurance and secondly gas price is increasing.

First when we asked state farm and bell direct and they quoted $370 per month for third party. Again we thought it is better to postpone buying a car then we got a good competitive auto insurance rate from Intact Insurance (ING) for $240 third party and $270 full insurance. Hope they are good. any comment is appreciated.

thnks RBO for the link but unfortunately since we got licence within one month of landing, month of G1 and G2 licence is same, it is not allowing me to go ahead. It is telling there should be gap of 1 year between G1 and G2 licence.since we have 10 yrs driving experience of Gulf, they allowed G1 and G2 imdly.
