I have to get a certified copy of my landing document (IMM 1000). A couple of amendments were already done to my landing doc in the past. While filling the application form I have to answer which type of document I need as asked in question 1 in the following link
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5541E.pdf
I am just confused if I I have to get a certified true copy or a replacement copy of my original IMM 1000 doc. Just need to know if I request certified true copy, then will it contain all the amendments I got done since my landing in Canada or it will be just a certified photocopy of IMM1000 without showing any changes?
I just need a copy so that it will show all the up to date information recorded in my immigration record. So do I need a 'Certified true copy' or 'replacement copy' as asked in question 1 of the application form?
Can anyone please suggest.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply
But my question is what is the difference between "Certified true copy" and "replacement of a document" as mentioned in question 1?
If I ask for certified true copy, they might send me a photocopy of landing doc (With a stamp showing that it is certified) which was issued to me before landing. Will it show my surname which I got added few years back after landing. My surname was not there the time I first landed. I am not sure which copy I will receive. I don't want a photocopy of my original doc which had no surname.

You only have a CERTIFIED Copy of IMM 1000.
You also had to get a couple of amendments.
You will need a CERTIFIED TRUE COPY. So, state that in the application.
under (1) the first box (Left most)
Do you have a PR Card?
Do you have a birth Certificate?
When you send the application, please enclose a photocopy of the one that you already have and tell them you do not have the original. What ever you send you might not get them back, so be careful when you submit, you only submit that which you don't mind losing.
Do you have the original Police Complaint or the report. Make a copy and get it certified also. ( You don't want your application returning back to you with the request for more documents.)
They will also need two other papers from you. Since you have done that before what I am telling you is redundant. But... this is just to jog your memory.
The fees are $30.00 (The last I know) Plus $3.90 taxes. Please call and talk with the Call center guys, or look into the guide. (888-242-2100)
Freddie.

They no longer give you a certified copy of the original Record of Landing.
What you will get is a VERIFICATION OF LANDING instead of that dirty looking paper.
Verification of landing is simple formated paper stating your name, date & location of landing & other stuff required with a certified stamp. It has to be used where ever record of landing is asked for. I used it for my citizenship application without any problem. The call center guy also told me to keep it in good condition as I would even need it for getting my pension after 30 years.....
As long as your question concern, just click on "Certified true copy" & as Freddie wrote click YES on question 4. If the correction was made in the past believe me they know about that & any future correspondence will definitely include those corrections such as in your case the name.
