Could you please give your valuable advise on Garage door opener?
Which brand is good? Liftmasters, Chamberline or Craftsman - Chain drive. Because I am buying it for the first time. Is it better to buy with the surge protector?

Craftman, Chamberlain and Liftmasters are manufactured by one company - Chamberlain....surprised!!!!
Difference is Craftman is Sears brand. Lift master is used in commercial establishment because of its power and is available to commecial installers. Chamberlain is more commonly used in residential
You need to identify what power is required. If you have double garage door then you may have to choose 3/4 HP. For single garage 1/4 is enough.
Chain drive is more noisy than belt. There is another brand called Genie which are screw driven. These are also good.
Surge protector is not required.
i bought a home that already has installed westing house garage door opener and is working well. try that
