The government of India is divided and the pro-peace process/Pakistan elements in the Kichdi Party Of India has won.

The first is that they have shifted M.K.Narayanan from NSA to the Governership of West Bengal.

He was against any talks or any form of process post November 26, 2009 until that issue was settled.

While someothers under US pressure wanted the peace process to continue.

The reason being that US wants to have its foot in Pakistan. BUT day by day they are loosing their hold to China. China already has full control on Srilanka, Nepal, Myanmar and now Pakistan. They are building roads in PoK so that they can have access to Indian border.

India does not have the political will to stand against China hence it is taking US side in this issue and following their directives.

The political equation in India has to change with corporate India having more say in the running of the country than the vote bank politicians.

The first scare now is that with Amar Singh out of SP, Sanjay Dutt has followed suite. Big B now is pally with Narendara Modi and he is trying to have a good equation with BJP as he is not in good terms with Sonia's Kichdi Party of India.

With Amar Singh out and he will be followed by Anil Ambani who was the money bags for SP. This will split the funding in UP. If both the Ambani brothers will gang up together and put their money bags behind Modi there will be resurgence of BJP in India.

This will lead to the ruling party of India taking decisive steps towards their threats.

With Ambanis, Mittals , even Ratan TATA(who has visited Puttaparthi atleast 3 times to meet the Sai Baba) the resurgence of a united India to a foreign threat will be met.

BUT the real threats to India are China and also that more and more people/land is being converted from agricultural to Industrial land. Hence from a net exporter of food, India has become a net importer of food leading to spiralling food costs.

I agree with Badger that going out on full scale war with Pak is really bad for the common man. But I don't see anything wrong in not having any sort of govt to govt relationship. Why can't we stop talking to Pak, seal up the border, beef up intelligence gathering and security and have a reasonably ready to go for it armed forces. By trying to be so for the last 1 year India has been able to stop a repeat of 26/11 and hopefully we are safe like this even longer. Why can’t we display some kind of impatience with them and just keep rejecting all their allegations and requests for peace talks, completely ignore them (but definitely monitor them) and move on and ahead in our lives. Why do we like to confine ourselves to Pak issues? Security is all we need and it’s our govt's due diligence to try and make us feel secure. And to do that, if the least needed to do is cutoff all existing relationship with Pak then I would think the govt has to do that.
But more than likely the Indian govt will pursue the path of peaceful negotiations with Pak knowing it won't yeald any good results because then they will not have to get their act together to try and secure India. They can blame the US for pressing them to talk and some of them will steep low enough to claim that they are 'men of peace' and that they are doing so not under US pressure but out of their own decision. This in my view is what leads to repeat of more 26/11's.
