I second what someone wrote in hindi about TK. He is the one who started this discussion which has got out of hand. This is not the first time, and it will continue. TK likes to start a tirade each time, about his favorite subjects like "discrimination", "visible minorities" "corruption" "wasteful expenditure", "Canadian scams" "bad health care system" and so on. He likes to "start the fire", metaphorically speaking. He loves it to see how people get personal, attack each other personally, and become abusive.

I have said it before and would like to emphasize this - this forum can be used to share useful information, to help each other with life in Canada........... how does it help to keep discussing (till the end of time) matters that have been brought up, a million times before?

Yes it gives people like TK, amusement value.............. and if you notice, many a time he will start the discussion, and then become an innocent bystander. There is no point in TK writing the word "Peace" as long as he keeps stoking the embers.

On other occasions, he will keep stoking the fire, till the moderator locks the thread.

It is high time WE grow up and have the maturity to rise above our pettiness, and prejudices. If we mean good to the desi community, let us stop ranting about the subjects that have been discussed many times before.

Instead, if you have constructive ideas please bring people together, especially in times like the one we live in. That would the greatest deed we can do to each other.

As far as the moderators go, I would earnestly hope that they do not publish these oft repeated messages on the forum. I am sure we can use this forum for better purposes.

I am sorry for upper case...

All i want to say is everyone should respect thier motherland.

Going abroad to work and learn new technology and techniques is not bad.

I came to canada for work to get better oppotunities and pay i decided to work in canada only for some years and gain knowledge and then come back to india and work for it (My own motherland).. after all we are the only one who will and who can develop and make our country prosper by working for it....
that does not mean i hate canada..yes i am not very happy with the system but no place is better then others.

It hurts when someone always say bad about india, we dont hate our mother even if she is handicap right ? so why hate india ?

We can all talk about good and bad side of Canada but please dont involve India in all converstation , this both country are not comparabale..

To me India is a much better place than any other country. Not because it has clean streets, tall buildings.....but due to the fact that I like the environment. You don't always need a car even to eat Ice Cream. The isn't that stressful. Wasting a few hours to play cricket or just roam around won't make any difference (unlike US/Canada). I miss most of the things from food, festivals, culture...to cars.

I don’t know how long I hv to stay here to achive what I came for but I am sure about my retire life will be in India.. I wanna burried in my motherland

its obvious from this post that you miss India quite a bit. Thats normal and its ok. Talk about it, go through your feelings, visit India if possible etc. There are many activities in your local community you can participate in, that are part of the "culture" of your province/city. Naturally they will be different than what you are used to in India. After all as you mentioned, entirely different countries.

However I'd like to comment on something you said above. You say its ok to talk about the good and bad of Canada, but not of India as it hurts to hear bad things about India. For many of us (and for me because this is my country of birth) it sometimes hurts to hear negative things about Canada BUT....let me emphasize the "but", I realize its required in order to have a balanced view of one's environment.

Can you clarify why "wasting a few hours to play cricket or just roam around isnt possible here'? I didnt understand.

I think this discussion is going nowhere. I am sorry if I have hurt anybody's feeling about this country. Everybody has right to think his/her own way in this free world and give his/her opinions.

Thanks for participating

Ladies and Gentlemen,
As a person who was born here in Canada, I have seen Canada's heath care system degenerate horribly.

Even if you are new to this country, I don't think you should ever withhold judgment on the degenerating condition of Canada's healthcare system.

True, India's may be worse, but this should not stop you from speaking the truth of Canada's semi-socialist, government run beaucracratic style healthcare.

The difference in healthcare systems is not between countries, but on a clear, black and white moral difference, no matter in which country a healthcare system is in. That difference is the difference between freedom and controls, i.e., between different degrees of government controlled healthcare or private, market healthcare.

The more a healthcare system is government controlled, the worse it becomes, even though it may begin as a government controlled in the begining, with high hopes and plenty of tax dollars. Government control always breeds more controls. Politicians can't help it! It is no different in healthcare.

In the end, any system in any sector of the economy must inevitably end up like the mighty Soviet Socialist Republic - bankrupt.

Canadian politicians are pretending this isn't true, but look at every socialist experiment in history and see if it hasn't wreaked havoc and destruction, if not bloodshed, where it has been tried. Millions have been slaughtered attemting socialist schemes in every part of the world.

Until mankind learns sarifice is not a moral creed, we will continue to have do-gooders trying to build perfect, heart felt systems that destroy.

The solution is capitalism.

On a personal level, this means a doctor can be free to charge what he wishes, and other doctors can compete for patients, driving costs and prices down. The best will rise to the top, serving you.

There is no reason to think the best service will not emerge with capitalism. As capitalism works in every area (commodities, oil, big ticket items, etc) so too in healthcare... It seems obvious, but politicians are beguiled by this socialist creed - in Canada as well as other countries. I therefore have given Canada an honourary third world status for its cowering to socialism in its economic practises.

Ted.
