Pramod ji is an exception .... he has always shared very good information on the forum and off it ..... perhaps why I had mentioned realtors in the OP ..
Please don't get me wrong ... I do not have anything against anyone ..... There have been lots of unspoken helping members who have given enormous free contribution to this site .... Chandresh , TK , Hiren , G13 , Freddie , PratickM .... just to name a few .......... well the forum is meant for that ... Isn't it ??
The question is not about free help ...... Lots of people are doing it .... the question is ........ because a person imparts free advice on the forum , does he get a right to advertise which is against the 'charcha's ' basic objective .... ?
Or is this policy of advertising on charcha , flexible to your contribution ??
For if we are allowing this , then tomorrow lawyers , dentists would also come over and charcha becomes a covert business ground . I really wish that GG could address this .... so that the policy is clear .

The only reason people (on this site) put their business details in email signatures is so that prospective clients contact them (for business). Hence in my books this is marketing (covert if you may). Is this against the policy or not, is up for grabs.

I agree with Fido.
GG should for example charge them $120 per annum. A small amount for them.
For folks like Pramodji (who as Fido says is an exception), it should be refundable.
That will encourage more real estate folks to contribute, and more income for canadiandesi - will mean a better forum as the money could be reinvested!
Or give them a free advertising slot similar to LD / RBC etc in return to their services (if any ) .
But for charcha , it becomes contradictory when on one side we claim 'no advertising in charcha ' and on the other we allow it selectively .....
Advertising is advertising , whether its explicit or hidden ........

Exactly what I m trying to say .......... Charcha is a strongest medium for advertising then the advertisements on CD else where ........... some people are making huge potential advantage by flexing the rules ..... which should either be dis allowed or clarified as a policy by the moderators .
If you are that helping and good a professional ...... people would contact you via pm's ............ I have contacted and seeked advice from Pramod ji , Chandresh ji and others and even had business dealings with other people (contacted through pm's not signatures ) when I was impressed with their responses ........
But advertising one's signature is unwanted , forcible and hidden promotion which I believe is against the premise of the charcha ......... As a senior and trusted member , I wish to point this out into making the forum cleaner ....
If you keep on seeing the same signature , again and again , then the first person who comes to your mind for that business is that person ....... since it has been imprinted on your mind by constant advertising ...... this works to the benefit of the advertising person and to the reader's disadvantage as he/she may not think of checking out other professionals who may be better than the ones advertising .
