You may not get a receipt for work done to claim your home reno tax credit, but he is cheap and good. I had him do my deck too and it looks awesome. PM me if you want his contact.

Bye

I don't know any lawyer....so anyone whom ever I m calling is the 1st time call. How do I figure out which one is good?

Thanks for all the vaulable suggestions for Movers.I also read somewhere that its better to fix the rate instead for going hourly basis. Is that right?

PM'ed you some info as well ...

It's tough to come down to a fixed rate with a movers. What if you have 3 times the baggage? What if you just had 1/4th of the average?
Yes, it will work, only when the movers come and inspect each and every piece of baggage to be moved before fixing the rate. There are also movers who will pack and move (some will even unpack). Their rates are a bit higher.

Best option is to have written estimate. I took the written estimates for 4 hrs.
(4 hrs ) times (Hourly rates) = your payment estimate.

Ask for approximate hours required for your size of home/appt. 1 bed costs less compared to 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms.

This is how I got an idea on my own. Mine was a one bed apt.
. So, it is approx 2-3 hrs loading into the truck. (Remember, I said everything in boxes? If you have unpacked items when movers arrive, add additional time)
. Add your drive time to your destination.
. Next is the unloading the boxes to new home. (Unloading 2 books at a time takes more time than a box with 25 books within)

Get quotes. Ask questions regarding when the "hours" start. Negotiate.
"Hmm so $xx an hour for 3 mens ..... Hey, mine is only 1 bedroom. It won't take more than 3 hrs .. give me 10% off your this rate"
"OK, let me talk to my spouse and I'll get back to you tomorrow"

And movers go by minimum of 4 hrs. Don't think it's possible to complete in 3 hrs.
