Hi Friends

I need help with filing my tax return.

This was my first time tax return filing.

Right now i am out side Canada (in India for last six months) and for the year -2008 i worked in Canada for 3 months and i received my T4 slip from my employer.

with regards to my wife she was a landded immigrant but never livied in canada in last year -2008. still she needs to submit her return or not ?

Is there any one in CD who provides some help for the first time tax filing help.

Any suggestion other than online software filing appreciated

Hi Manyam,
For the first return, you will need to paper file. Softwares like Ufile will allow you to input all teh values and give you an option of printing the return for submission. However, I am sure that someone from CD will contact you (check your PM's regularly) who will paper file for you (for a small fee).
Your wife can also file and may be declare her world income (for namesake only).
Once you file the first time and attach all your receipts/T4's/ Void Cheque (for direct deposit)/Canadian address, from the next time you can electronically file. sitting from outside Canada and by yourself through ufile or other softwares.

we did it for the first time as well.....we got help from the community centre....
they did it for free...if u need address let me know...

Is there any time limit for filing for the first time?

I am going for driving lessons these days. My G2 test is this week.

The instructor suggested to take G2 first, then after few weeks full G.
