I will like your help on this please.

mumdxbcan,
Now you should ask for a refund from Canada post. Similar thing happened with me in 2003 and they finally sent a refund cheque for the charges I had paid.

You know you are a desi when ........ You spew forth the virtues of India, but don't want to live there...............You've never had a tanning salon membership

The place could be kept cleaner though. There's a TV blaring; some indian channel with Bollywood music. I'm sure one doesn't need that. The toilet is right at the entrance.
What I missed is a professional atmosphere. The lady at the counter called out a number, but there were three people rushing to talk to her. There were obviously two people who were not in the line-up, but she didn't care.
We went there to apply for a new passport in lieu of lost passport. Its already 5 weeks and there is no response from them. They do not answer any phone call and neither do they answer any email.
While submitting the documents we asked, how much time its going to take, they refused to give any committment/timeline. After insisting a lot, the vice consulate general said it might take upto 6 weeks. This is the 6th week and there is no answer yet.
Not sure how much more time they are going to take.
