Hi,
I would be moving to Canada as an immigrant next month. My dad and brother have already moved to Canada since my dad was the principal applicant and hence I would be joining my dad next month.How ever I need to return to India within 1 week since I have some obligations to be fullfilled.I just wanted to clarify whether one needs to collect his PR card personally or it is mailed across to the address specified in the form.I was just talking to my dad today he told that one needs to collect personally,but even he was not clear on that front.It is impossible for me to collect the PR card,Can my dad collect my PR card on my behalf or will it be mailed across to the address specified in the form.Do I need to fill up the form at the airport itself or I can do it later on?Also lets assume a worst case scenario that I don’t have a PR card to return back to Canada.What would be the solution in that case?Will I get a travel document to return back?Would be eagerly awaiting for a reply from your end.

Subsequent PR cards (after 5 year expiry) need to be picked up in person.

Best to call the CIC call centre in case this is a recent change, however, I haven't heard of this.
