We are in Montreal Quebec and moving to Toronto by June 2009.

I have sponsored my family ( Two person: mother and son- 18 age when sponsor in August 2007. ( Parents and Grandparents October 30, 2006 27 months.

- so my file is still not yet in queue - AS per cic link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/canada/process-in.asp#n2)
As per cic time line our file is still not in process.

Now my question is to do I need to transfer my file to Toronto if I move or It is better to stay with Quebec and not change.

Toronto and Quebec has different income requirement, when my family’s file open and they ask for financial support (income proof) , which one is consider ? my Montreal job for 2007, 2008 or I have to give them Toronto job ( I still hv to find job)

What job is to take in consideration Montreal or Toronto ?

What is salary required : me, my wife, two young childer from our side – sponsor’s Monther and son = 6 person

I am confused if I should transfer my file from Quebec to Toronto or not – is it better to keep file in Quebec or better to transfer to Toronto?

Please go through the whole section of the Immigration department link provided here. If you have a job that will provide you with income that will take care of you and the dependents that you are sponsoring, please stay there till they all Immigrate into Canada. Then you plan to move to any other location after that. That will be my best suggestion to you. Do not complicate the process.

Thank you for reply.

My problem is i cant wait to move to toronto.

my family sponsorship file still away 10 months to come into queue , then it will take another couple of month. in that case i have to stay in quebec almost two more years which is hard since we make our mind to move.

supporting family income will not be a problem in Toronto because both me and my wife can find job and make easily 60-70K which is good enough as per requirement.

So, if i move now then i have to start file again or it will be in queue and just need to change location and sign Sponsors “engagement” form.

what if i move and dosent change address since my bro will be living in quebec and he can provide me any updates on process, like letter from cic or phone calls.

but then do they consider toronto job letter ? since we will be working in toronto and our file will stay in quebec

its is complicated but i m sure someone must have gone threw similar scenario.

You know all the in and outs of the system now. So, if you are confident, then move to Ontario. You have no problems or difficulties. Please update them with the NEW details if asked. Because, once you leave Quebec and their Pension Plan etc., it drops a flag in their system that you have moved to Ontario. Please make a note of this.

Good Luck.

Freddie.

Thank you for all your feedback.

but my question remain still, if you can put some light on it would be appreciated.

So, if i move now then i have to start file again ?
or it will be in same queue and just need to change location and sign Sponsors “engagement” form.

if i transfer my file to toronto will it be fresh file ?

Your son could be sponsored from where you applied first. Leave the application process to complete. After it gets completed, he can travel to any destination here in Canada for his landing.

As for your Mother, since your Brother is still in P.Q. you give your change of address as if you are still there in Quebec Province. (She is his Mother too) Then you move out. The responses will arrive there from the Immigration Department. Respond back to them from where ever you are.

Here is a number to call and ask: 1-888-242-2100 (In Canada Only)

Good Luck.

Freddie.

I tried to trace and find Immigrant Help Centers in the Province of Quebec. There are a lot of groups and clubs. But no centers to help. Can you verify from the local community there. The Government of Canada is pouring money to these centers to help NEW Immigrants here in Ontario. I see none utilizing the same there. F

Hi Freedie

No, my brother is not responsible cause i m sponsoring my wife's family.

My wife's brother and mother.

the only think i want to make sure is, if i transfer file from quebec to toronto - there will be a delayed ? - or simply paper works

second thing, if i keep file in quebec - then do they consider toronto job as income ?

i have try to look for immigration center in my local community but quebec system is complected - first they dont give much priority to federal programs , second provincial programs more towards francophone - french is everywhere ( thats the only reason i m moving :) :) )
