HI All,

Couple of points to start with:

1.US exp - 4+yrs
2. US MS degree in Comp Sci, i work as SAP Analyst in WM/MM area.
3. BE in Prod Engg
4.Married- Wife is MA Eco and going to finish MBA

I am thinking to apply for Immigration to CANADA thru Alberta (AINP) program. Do I need a someone's legal help? ( I can fill those forms by myself)

Also, my understanding is that I need to have a job offer to qualify for AINP, isn't that right?
NEED HELP PLEASE.
One of the lawyer I contacted asking for around 4000 $. I am kinda little worried, ANY HELP?

Anything else I need to know?
Can I try to find job in Canada even though I dont have work permit now, believing that once I find a job I will be able to apply for Immigration.

regards
zsap

Entry of immigrants have trickled down to a few. You both have merits and you both in good standing. It is my humble opinion that you both stand a chance of Immigrating into Canada within the next twelve months, Lawyer or no lawyer.

If you know what AINP is and want to get in to Alberta, then go ahead and apply. Yes, you do need an arranged employment if you are entering the Employer Driven Stream. Otherwise you need to have a very close relative to sponsor you or be a Farmer and do know a lot about farming and Animal husbandry.

The choice is always yours if you want to use the services of a Lawyer. We help those who need help.

Please go through the normal application forms and see if you have evaluated your PASS marks and have all of the required documentations in the Original Form. Make copies and get all of them attested by your local banker there. They are Notaries there. And it is practically free. Get the needed pictures for both of you, get a bank statement with the current balance and any of your tax submissions in the last four years. Get some colour copies of your current Passport and the Visa status page in it. These are the major items. Also if you do want your family to follow you, provide their details and be prepared to get a Medical for all of you. Also see if they need any IELTS scores for you and the wife. I have not seen the current application kit as yet. (Alberta AINP might call for IELTS scores). Also find out more about FBI Police Clearance Certificate.

After you fill a rough copy of the application see what other help that you will need. And you can explore the job field and the availability of a suitable opening any time and can enter and go through the selection process here. If you are successful all by yourself, then, inform the Immigration Department by fax or e-mail that you have succeeded in finding a suitable employment.

Good Luck in you application.

Freddie.

Freddie,
Thanks for the info.
The questions biols down to finding a job.
I am a experinced Senior Systems Analyst in SAP SCM. Also, I have about 2 years of Maintenance Engineer ( Shift Engineer) exp.
How to contact a potential employer in Alberta? Are there any Immigration law firm helps to find a job as well? Meaning to say they not only help in document preparation but also to find a job based on your exp.

Thanks.

Working with the two words : Maintenance and Shift is there any possibility that you could qualify for Power Engineering? OR is it in SAP SCM ?

There are a few good Lawyers. They only do the clerical work. Once they get your paperwork in, they say good Bye to you. I have never heard of a Lawyer who got any one a JOB. They know the fields that do not need an approval from HRSDC and try and get you in through the open door. Their job is to get you in and not look for a job.

No one has given us a report on any of these lawyers on this CD. Good or bad. Because this is not a depository. They all have been removed from the system.

So where do we go with this?

Are you scared of the paper work? If you are, then there are a few lawyers listed here in the CD. They are GOOD. Call them and hire one of them, they will do everything that any of the others will do for the same fee. Ask them for a break. Tell them you saw their Ad in the CD.

Otherwise, please apply based on the points that you will score. Try that route first. You will get a positive response in both the cases. Now where do you go with this?

Good Luck.

Freddie.

Freddie,

I was a Shift Maintenance Engineer and then I moved to US for higher Education. Then after MS I got into SAP and have been working in SAP since then. SAP SCM- includes MM/IM/WM/LE mine is more on WW/LE/RF functional side. In normal case these skills are in demand in US, even in economic situation like this there are demands but they want someone either a citizen or GC.
After few encounter like this, I thought thats it, let me go else where. I had been to Calgary and I liked it. And then came across this AINP program.
My skills are listed there as well and I thought lets apply. But even before I do this I want to see if I can find a job and then apply for AINP.

Now my intention is to find a job first. Question is how I approach the potential employer? How to contact them?
Thanks for your reply.

I am a Production engineer which is like Industrial Engg in US standard I believe. In my understanding though its a mixture of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering.
I guess Power Engineering is more like a mixture of Electrical and Electronics.

There are a few oil companies of repute here in Alberta. They are the ones that you will seek employment with. See the listings in Alberta. Browse through them. See if you find any thing there that is closest to what you are looking for. Then, apply for that job and keep looking for them through the Associations (group) that they belong to.

As far as I know you have past the levels that I thought that you are seeking entry into because the current openings in Alberta are in the Power Engineering. Which is as explained in the links below. That will change your views about it and hence the posting.

SAP is a different ball of wool, the one that you are well versed with. So look for that in the appropriate locations. I would suggest that you look into consultancy here or in contract jobs. Of course as an immigrant. They are becoming scarcer by the day.

It is well worth a try.

Freddie.
