Whether your job can classify under H-1B or not depends on the nature of job.
H-1B is for skilled, speciality professional occupations.
It really depends on what the position is, what are the duties involved and whether there are US residents available and willing to do the same job or not.
It should also be a job that requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree.

Only an immigration lawyer who is well versed with the requirements of the H-1B program can evaluate your case and tell you whether the job can be classified as an H-1B job or not.

And there is nothing that you need to do in this case - it is your employer who must have the job position evaluated by a US immigration lawyer and then file the petition.

If the job does indeed classify as H-1B, then the employer must initiate the H-1B process.
There are several steps involved, such as an evaluation of your foreign credentials, LCA from the DoL and filing the H-1B petition with the BCIS (or whatever they are calling it this week).
In all this, you have very little role to play - all you gotta do is provide copies of your educational certificates and your past work experience proof.

Also keep in mind that the yearly quota for H-1B is already over for this year.
If you do qualify for H-1B, your case will have to wait until the next year's quota opens in October.
Until then, there is nothing that you or the employer can do.
