Hi All,

I applied PR at Buffalo on 8th Feb 2008 and received medical papers on 2nd Nov. I received one more letter along with the medical papers which says that "Rights of Permanent Resident fee" is due (490 x 2). Letter doesnt say anything about

when and where to submit this fee?

and also if there is any fee for my 15 month old son need to pay?

I feel i have to submit this fee at Buffalo office only. Why i am confused is becoz medical reports need to send at Ottawa.

Can anyone knows abt these things pls reply.

hi,

You have to submit ur RPRF to the cic office where you paid your application fee. This fee is payable by principal applicants (with some exceptions) and accompanying spouses and common-law partners. It must be paid before the immigrant visa is issued overseas or before the applicant becomes a permanent resident in Canada.

The following applicants are not required to pay this fee:

dependent children of a principal applicant or sponsor, a child to be adopted, or an orphaned brother, sister, niece, nephew or grandchild; and
protected persons, including Convention refugees.
