Dear Seniors,

I paid the landing fee along with my PR application. What impact it will have on my processing time, either delay or faster the the time.

All suggestions are most welcome

Regards
Candy

Makes no difference.

Your PR application is decided on Merit and your qualification, not by the fees paid. Infact, IMO- they might not even encash your DD while your application is being reviewed and it might get date lapsed.

Check with your bank if the DD is date sensitive and what will happen to the amount paid if the receiver does not encash it within the validity period.

Good luck.

Paying earlier helps.

Aashu,

Just curious to know how does it help?

Paying earlier helps in reducing processing times; paying anytime before the interview I would add.

It eliminates one step of CIC asking the applicant to pay the landing fees (towards the end of the whole application process, usually after the interview). This step sometimes takes upto three months.

I paid my landing fees right after the interview for the same reason.

Hiren - you are right in your statement - it does not help in changing the actual decision though.

Thanks G13.

What my concern for the OP is that if he has paid the Landing fees by way of DD, the Consulate might not actually encash it before the decision is made - that may depend upon his location, but surely more than 6 months in most countries. By that time the DD will be outdated and his money will be stuck, I am not sure if he can even get it back from the bank, without having the original DD.

The OP can shed some light on this.

For me, as well as for a few I know of, Right of Landing Fee was asked to be paid along with medical. Actually, it wasn't asked directly, but the letter said, if you haven't paid the right of landing fee yet, you may pay it now. Doubt it delayed the processing anything (15 months @ Buffalo). Since it was done along with medical, there was no additional steps either...
