My friend's mother in law is currently visiting Canada from India. This is her second visit in last one year.
He wants to sponsor her this time?
Question is if mother in law be sent back to India during processing of the application or will be allowed to live here during app. processing?
Sponsoring one's parents under family class is a two stage process. Irrespective of where the parents are, the first stage is processed at CPC Mississauga. Once the sponsor is found eligible, the file is transferred to the overseas visa post for second stage processing. Presently, there is no provision to process the entire application within Canada.
As far as your friend's mother in-law is concerned, she is currently in Canada as a visitor and must leave Canada before the expiry of her visitor visa. She can always apply for an extension of her visa before the expiry date. However, it might or might not be granted.
Hope this clarifies your query
Best wishes
