its already a good deal.
Mazda 3 is a good car to drive, but is not great on mileage esp in city driving.
I recently went on a long trip (750 kms on highway), and Mazda 3 gave me 6.0 litres per 100 kms and thats the best mileage I got so far on this.
On an average city driving mileage is 8.0 - 9.0 per 100 kms...maybe its my driving to blame, but I am happy with this car.
good luck.
I used to own a Mitsubhishi Eclipse and had my tranny changed under warrany in 1 year.. It took 4 trips to the shop to actually diagnose the problem. My tranny was serviced once before the dealer decided to replace it. The headacke does not include the broken windshild caused on rental car while my car was in shop for diagnosing the problem.
Had to change other parts in 5 years, which cost me a bundle..
I almost filed for Lemon...
After that i decided 4 things..
1> Never buy new car
2> Never buy from dealer
3> Always buy manual tanny
4> Stick with Honda and Toyota
I recently bought a 97 Civic which gets me from A to B no hassles.. My car need is satisfied without the added headache ...

Honda and Toyota pay off for the added expense in better and reliable Quality..
That's exactly what I want to know - what is bad in Mitsubishi? I have driven Lancer (1600 cc), Mazda 626 (1600 cc), Suzuki Swift (1000cc), BMW 530 (2000 cc), Opel (1800cc) and Camry (2200cc) and Camry (3000cc) and while I found the last one to be best, the second best for me was Lancer in terms of smooth ride, repairs (if needed which was hardly needed), cost, leg room etc.
When negotiating with the dealer do the following:
1) do not show extreme interest in the car. Act netural even if you are dying to get the car
2) Do not give them how much you are ready to pay monthly on it. Just negotiate on the final price (i mean final price including taxes, pdi, delivery etc) Once the total price is given write the price you are willing to pay and see if they bite. If not then walk. Dont negotiate right then. If your offer is reasonable they will call back. A lot of times in the excitement of buying something we compromise. (personal experience) dont do that.
3) For Honda, Toyota do not buy extended warranty.
4) There will be a lot of pressure put on you to get rust proofing, upholstery warranty etc (dont fall for that)
For Toyota Corolla if you get 750$ off the lowest pubilcally advertised price you are doing good.

Hi ,
On a side note ~ would any of the CDs consider buying a Honda Fit / has one already - how does this compare with Corolla AND how does this perform without comparing ------- asking this because its a small economical car - easy to park , drive I guess .
