I am 52 years old female. All my family members are Canadian citizens. While applying for for renewal of PR Card, do the they ask for a copy of passport in all cases or selected cases only. If in all cases, then why don't they insist for it along with the application i.e. this is not a requirement on the check-list.

I know you have it and you are reading it. It is the item # 2.
In that they are asking for ONE. they are very specific about it. So, make sure that you include the COPY of that Document, which in your case is the Passport. They also tell you who can attest it at the bottom. The list is extensive. So get it signed by him/her and get a rubber stamp on it.
So, please read through the check list and tick each of the item that you have to put inside the envelope you send and also send the check list. (Please retain a photocopy of all of the submission.)

Thanks for the response. By the way they ask for a photocopy of the passport for ID purpose, so would it not suffice to give the first 2 pages with personal details and pictures. I wd have thought that the first 2 pages would suffice. Please let me know. Thanks again!
In fact one of my friends went thru a lawyer for the renewal of PR Cards and the lawyer asked my friend to submit only the copy of the first 2 pages.
