Please read in the middle re his reaction to the journo who asked him the question.

And he claims the venue was sold out at the outset and then he talks about integrity!

For all those who went to the show, I hope you enjoyed it.

I just came across this article in the Star and it said there were tickets for $1000 as well. Never heard about those on this forum. I liked Amitabh's response to "unaffordable" tickets. However, who will bell the cat? Means, how do we get to his room to see the dance.

By the way, I do like Amitabh and feel he is very versatile. His son has been improving and clicks with Rani Mukherjee more than anyone else on the screen(my opinion). Aish, though beautiful looks very artificial in her acting and very 'plastic perfect' on the screen.

Enjoy this article:

Yes the show itself was Unforgettable. Production wise the show was top knotch.

here is a bit of backstory on the toronto show:

Toronto show was set to get cancelled 2 hours before the show.

Big. B, organizers etc all huddled in crisis mode then and deliberated on whether to continue with the show.

People are very angry. Big B. had no idea tix sales were such a mess. Especially those who purchased tix at the regular price of $97.00 (rafters) only to find out that the 2 days before the show it was reduced to $65, then reduced even further on the day of to $30 ..man if that was me, I’d be royally pissed.. It was a limited amount of tix that were reduced to $30 not ALL remaining tix were at that price.

The $30 dollar tix that were released the day of the show were snapped up. Which tells me that the hunger is there, if only they did that from the begnning.

Rogers centre seats up to 18-000-20,000 people. approx 8-10,000 people were there. They had the whole stadium open for seating at the beginning when tix when on sale in May. Then they started reducing the seating capacity when their days were numbered and they couldn’t unload the tix.

Then of course when people started snapping up the $30 tickets the night of the show, they reopened some of the closed sections again. Poor planning all over the place. That is the background story on the “opening” of the sections Mr. B was referring to.

But alas it wasn’t sold out. But its the world tour, and Toronto was the launch so alot is riding on it. It wouldn’t look too good if Mr. B said that it didn’t sell out. So he must say that it did. And honestly if I were in his shoes, I might do the same.

Regarding Media Reports, don't forget that no-one wants to bash Mr. B and his show so regardless, so the “sold out” reviews will be the norm.

so there you have it. I guess "integrity" means different things to different people.

I did inform everybody 4 days in advance that the ticket prices would be lowered to $ 30. Please do not blame me for being disloyal to all participants of this thread.Hope to see all of you next time

Rogers Centre can seat upto 50,000. Right from the beginning, The Unaffordable tour had only booked 18,000-20,000 seats. Throughtout the campaign they kept saying 20,000 fans would descend unto Rogers Centre.
Also throughout the campaign here, nothing was mentioned about the "Light a billion lives" project which is leading the public to believe that this is all 'dhong' and unfortunately since Jaya did the talking on this and Viraf Sarkari at the media conference, their names are being drawn thru the mud.
Since you seem to be privy to inside info- how about the dope on the 'green' lanterns.

First CONGRATS Big B & his team for GREAT show

My friends in Toronto say its SIMPLY OUTSTANDING

So don't take credit who perform so well for this show.

Now about Tickets & organisers, its really shameful

I think all shows/games are organised in same fashion.
Like when announce, tickets will be costly then depending on response
ticket price will go up or less
Simple example, I saw so many cricket matches. I always purchase at last moment. I always get better deal
No Organisers want to make less money or would like to show stadium is empty
So last moment, you always get cheaper tickets. This happens most of the time

So if organisers at Toronto annonce expensive tickets & then lower prices at last moment, is that something new?

Anyway looking forward, videos about this show ONLINE or
will certainly try to go for Vancouver

Also I am not sure why certain sections of media or people trying to sabotage this show?
Fact is show at Toronto is Great & Successful

Show is great. No doubt. Fantastic production.

The promoters on the other hand has sullied it through the mud.

Don't get confused. The show is great. The promoters are not.
